Recently, a black-throated loon appeared on Jingtian Lake in Century Park Shanghai.
However, it was soon discovered that this black-throated loon was a bit unusual. It turned out that this was a loon covered in black oil stains, especially its chest and abdomen were stained with a large piece of oil stains.

I was hoping that this bird can wash off the oil stains and have a good rest, then continue its migration.
But the bird eventually passed away...
The death of the black-throated loon was mainly due to poisoning from oil stains on its feathers.
Because the oil was in the abdomen, it affected its heat preservation function; The weather was cold,
and the loons kept pecking at the oil, causing poisoning, and finally a tragedy happened.
